Man arrested after a fight over a slow round of golf at Hill Air Force Base

A fight over a slow round at the Hill Air Force Base golf course ended with one man being taken to jail Saturday.

A 61-year-old man was arrested after hitting another man on the course in a dispute “over taking too much time on the course” at the nine-hole Hubbard Memorial, according to a probable cause statement filed in 2nd District Court.

The 61-year-old pulled up in a golf cart, shouted at another man and then shoved him, according to the statement. The alleged victim used a putter to try to keep the man at a distance, but the 61-year-old allegedly grabbed him and hit him five times around the head and neck before another group arrived to break up the fight, police wrote.

The incident was captured on video, according to the statement.

The victim had a cut above his right eye and his face was swollen, according to the statement.

The 61-year-old was booked into the Davis County jail on suspicion of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct. He has not yet been formally charged with any crimes.
