Letter: Classify this as a bad stretch for Trump

Poor former President Donald J. Trump. So little has gone his way lately. On Sept. 21, a double whammy: First, New York Attorney General Letitia James filed suit against Trump, the Trump Organization and three of his adult children for allegedly fraudulent asset evaluations.

Then, to add insult to injury, a three judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit unanimously repudiated the Trump legal team’s arguments that the Justice Department could not employ the classified records seized from Trump’s home as part of its ongoing criminal investigation.

The unkindest cut of all came on Sept. 22. President Joe Biden publicly announced that, by simply thinking it, he had reclassified any declassified documents Trump had or may still have in his possession.

Biden’s sheer act of mental prowess applies to all the allegedly purloined documents Trump has stored — no matter where he might have stored them. Reclassification increases the likelihood that Trump will one day be indicted for violations of the Espionage Act.

Okay, I confess. I made that last one up.
