The driver died after a car crashed along Interstate 80 in Tooele County on Saturday, the Utah Highway Patrol reported.
About 7:25 a.m. an eastbound Volvo S60 left the roadway to the right and struck a crash attenuator (a type of roadside barrier) near milepost 56.
The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, suffered fatal injuries in the crash.
Troopers were investigating the vehicle’s speed as a contributing factor.
