Police believe two children’s lives are in danger after a mother reportedly fled with her infant and toddler Wednesday morning after losing custody of them during a court hearing.
A statewide Amber Alert for the missing children was issued out of South Salt Lake just before 2 p.m. Wednesday, which identified them as 2-month-old Aaron Murrilo and 2-year-old Oaklee Murillo Beccerra.
Their mother, Yaneli Murillo, 22, and grandmother, Maria Murillo, 38, reportedly took off with the children after the mother lost custody of them Wednesday to the Division of Child and Family Services, according to police.
The alert also mentioned 9-year-old Librado Becerra Murillo and 11-year-old Rosa Becerra Murillo, whom the women picked up from school before fleeing, police spokesperson Danielle Croyle said.

Police believe the children are in danger because Maria Murillo sent a text message to a DCFS caseworker stating that the children “were killed or going to be killed” and refused to hand the children over to DCFS.
Croyle said the older children remain in their mother’s custody but that police were concerned about their welfare.
The Murillos picked up the older children from school in a gray 1999 Dodge Durango with black rims and no license plate, police said. They could also be traveling in a tan 2004 Ford Explorer with a missing front passenger hubcap and a license plate reading “4R4KV.”
It’s unclear where the Murillos may be headed.
The mother is described as 5-foot-4 and 110 pounds. She has brown hair and was wearing a black jacket and purple or pink pants. The grandmother, whom police have also identified using the last name Alvarez, is also 5-foot-4 and has brown hair.
The infant, Aaron Murillo, has brown hair and is about 18 inches tall. The 2-year-old, Oaklee Murillo Beccerrea, is 3 feet tall and weighs about 28 pounds.
Rosa Becerra Murillo, 11, is about 4 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs about 84 pounds. She has brown hair and was last seen wearing jeans or dark pants and a teal jacket with white on the hood.
The 9-year-old, Librado Becerra Murillo, is 5-foot-1 and weighs about 95 pounds. He has brown hair and was wearing black or dark pants and a red T-shirt.
Anyone with information about the children’s whereabouts may dial 911 or call South Salt Lake police at 801-940-6179.
