The Daily Buzz: What it’s like to be a transgender athlete in Utah

In today’s episode of ‘The Daily Buzz,’ sports reporter Julie Jag talks with managing editor Grant Burningham about her interview with a Utah athletics coach who works with two transgender girls that compete in Utah sports.

This comes a week after the Utah Legislature chose to override Gov. Spencer Cox’s veto of HB 11, which directly affects four transgender children in the state.

Also, Leia Larsen reports on the state’s declining snowpack, while Jessica Miller shares her latest reporting on teen treatment centers in the state, along with the latest episode of “Sent Away.”

I cap off the rundown of Utah’s latest stories with a COVID-19 update, and how the state is shutting down some of the testing locations. I’ll be your host for the rest of the week.

Hear all of these stories on the Tuesday, March 29, episode of ‘The Daily Buzz’ podcast. You can listen to this and other episodes on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and SoundCloud.
