Police searching for missing Utah girl, 13, who may be with ‘older male’

Utah authorities are asking for the public’s help to locate a missing 13-year-old girl from Roosevelt who is believed to have left her home with an “older male” on Tuesday.

Rylie Secrest walked out of her home at about 5:30 a.m., according to police. Her friends reported that she was in contact with a 25-year-old man from Florida, and that she was going with him to that state.

A Washington state man — Justin Woodruff — is a person of interest in Rylie’s disappearance, police said. Further details as to why Woodruff was identified as a person of interest were not immediately available.

The Utah Department of Public Safety issued an endangered missing advisory Wednesday in relation to Rylie’s disappearance.

Before she apparently left her home, Rylie received a Facebook message via the Oculus virtual-reality platform from someone using the name “Monkey King Budda” that read, “I’m waiting,” police said.

Rylie is described as 5-feet-3, 120 pounds, with a fair complexion, hazel eyes and red, shoulder-length hair.

No further information was immediately released. Anyone with information about Rylie’s disappearance is asked to call the Roosevelt Police Department at 435-722-2330.
