‘Hamilton’ tour’s production team hit with COVID-19; Eccles Theater shows postponed through Sunday

They didn’t throw away their shots, but members of the touring production of Broadway’s “Hamilton” have been hit with breakthrough cases of COVID-19 — so five days’ of performances at Salt Lake City’s Eccles Theater will be postponed.

The shows for Wednesday, Jan. 12, through Sunday, Jan. 16, will be postponed, according to a statement from Broadway at the Eccles, the booking agency for the theater’s touring Broadway productions.

People planning to attend those shows should hold onto their tickets. More details will be released when they’re available.

The production is scheduled to resume performances on Tuesday, Jan. 18, through the end of the run on Sunday, Jan. 23. (The production traditionally takes Mondays off.)

When those postponed shows will be made up is difficult to say. Once the touring production, with the “And Peggy” cast, finishes its run in Salt Lake City, it starts a three-week run on Jan. 25 in Albuquerque.
