20 people injured when Greyhound bus crashes in Emery County

Dozens of people have been rushed to hospitals after a Greyhound bus traveling from Green River to Las Vegas crashed in Emery County late Monday night.

According to the Utah Department of Public Safety, the bus was westbound on Interstate 70 near mile marker 112 shortly before midnight when it veered off the side of the road, traveled about 100 yards and overturned. There were about 37 passengers on the bus, along with a driver.

Ambulances from Carbon, Emery, Wayne, Sevier, and Sanpete Counties transported about 20 people to hospitals. According to DPS, their injuries ranged from minor to serious, but none appeared to be life threatening.

Uninjured passengers were taken to a church in the town of Emery.

The cause of the crash is under investigation, according to DPS.
