Police looking for suspect in Taylorsville shooting death

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect wanted in connection with a Sunday morning shooting death in Taylorsville.

The shooting took place around 1:35 a.m. Sunday at a residence in the area of 2300 West and 5200 South. A woman who suffered multiple gunshot wounds was pronounced dead at the scene.

She has not been identified yet. Detectives are investigating the shooting as a homicide.

Police are attempting to locate 36-year-old Manuel Omar Burciaga-Perea in connection with the shooting. He was last seen in a 2000 Chevy full-size extended cab with the Utah license plate U405MN.

Burciaga-Perea is considered armed and dangerous.
