Goat Springs Fire burns hundreds of acres

A wildfire in Juab County burned 300-400 acres, including two structures, on Friday according to Utah Fire Info.

Gusty winds and rugged terrain helped the Goat Springs Fire spread, according to Utah Fire Info. The fire, which started on the Simpson Mountain Range, was human caused and is currently under investigation. Local and federal resources, including air tankers, are being used to fight the fire.

This year is expected to have a bad wildfire season because of the state’s ongoing drought. There have already been more than 200 fires this year.

The story is developing and will be updated.
