Murray police say a man abandoned his dying passenger after a car crash and then shaved his head to avoid detection.
On Thursday, police went to the scene of a car crash in which the car’s passenger died, according to a probable cause document. Witnesses said the driver had gotten into a taxi a few blocks away.
The taxi driver described the man to police and told them the location of the motel where he had been dropped off, according to the document. Police went to the motel and saw a man with a shaved head wearing a bandana leave the motel and get on a Trax train. They followed him to the next Trax stop where they detained him and identified him as the driver. He had injuries consistent with a car crash and told police he had fallen asleep behind the wheel.
