Colorado Springs, Colo. • Justin Bean had 15 points to lead five Utah State players in double figures as the Aggies rolled past Air Force 83-48 on Thursday at Cadet Field House.
Brock Miller added a season-high 14 points for the Aggies (6-3, 3-0 Mountain West Conference). Marco Anthony chipped in 12 with six assists and, Steven Ashworth and Neemias Queta scored 10 apiece. Anthony also had six assists.
“I thought it was a very good win for the Aggies,” said USU coach Craig Smith. “We played very, very well.”
Nikc Jackson had 11 points for the Falcons (3-4, 1-2 Mountain West Conference).
“I thought we defended very well,” said Smith. “A little bit of a slow start. They got us on some backcuts. That goes back to the preparation. We had good preparation, three days of practice. But it’s just so hard to emulate their pace and how they do things, and I think it showed early ... But we really settled in.”
The Aggies and Falcons play again on Saturday at Cadet Field House. That game tips off at 4 p.m.
USU remains on the road after that, playing New Mexico on Wednesday at the Pit in Albuquerque. The two teams play again on Jan. 8.
