Salt Lake City police say one person is dead and another in critical condition after being shot Saturday night.
Lt. Steve Wooldridge said police received multiple calls at 6:46 p.m. about shots fired during a confrontation in the 900 block of S 1100 W.
A person with fatal gunshot wounds was located two blocks west of the place where the shooting occurred.
Police also received reports that someone was shot at 1245 S 900 W. When police went to that address they found a person in critical condition who was taken to a hospital.
Wooldridge said the shooting is under investigation. He said nobody has been arrested but police do not believe the public is in danger.
