A Sandy man was charged Monday with multiple counts of child exploitation after police say they found 13,000 images of child pornography on devices seized from his home.
Douglas Eugene Saltsman, 40, was charged in 3rd District Court with 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, which is a second-degree felony.
Charging documents said that members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force discovered files of child pornography being shared online, which were traced back to Saltsman’s address. It said they depicted child rape and sodomy.
In a police search of Saltsman’s home, investigators said they found 13,020 files of child pornography. With the help of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, they said 279 of the files were found to depict known child victims.
Additionally, charging documents said disturbing videos were found of Saltsman “engaged in sexual intercourse with several unconscious women" on the devices seized in his home.
