UPDATE 1-Barclays reports Q3 profit of 1.6 bln stg as trading revenue grows

Barclays reported a profit before tax of 1.6 billion pounds ($2.08 billion) for the third quarter, as its under-pressure investment banking division booked increased trading revenues despite difficult market conditions.
