Letter: Let’s consider all the facts before judging Trump

I could never hold a candle to Ed Firmage and his legacy of accolades. His April 16 entry in The Tribune in the Public Forum and his postnominal letters in said opinion are indeed impressive.

However, I must take umbrage with his somewhat eager assessment of the Robert Muller investigation and the rush to label our president treasonous.

I did not vote for Trump and I don’t like him. I do, however, like to make my decisions based on all the facts and, as of yet, all those facts are not submitted to the public. We should be fair when we make accusations.

Firmage informs us that it “is now apparent” that Trump, et al., have colluded with the Russians. A bold statement to make when the only charges made as of yet have been for ancillary activities that are not related to the actual investigation.

If a collusion charge does come and the facts lead us to that conclusion, I will be the first to condemn Trump. But let’s be fair and not grab the pitchforks and torches just yet.

There will be time to let Firmage lead our mob when the facts are in.
