Letter: There ought to be rules limiting dogs in a farmers market

I get the desire to take your dog to the farmers market at Pioneer Square, and it makes for a nice social atmosphere. Most dogs and their owners are considerate and well behaved.

But the market is crowded, and there ought to be a rule of one dog per person. It’s just too much to navigate in the crowded market when a man or woman has two curious dogs.

Recently I saw a woman with a baby carriage with three dogs! Wasn’t fun for her or for the people giving her scornful looks. Should have taken a pic. Either a baby carriage or a dog; not both. Be considerate of yourself and others.

If the market has rules governing dogs, they’re not posted at the park, nor are they on its website (www.slcfarmersmarket.org), except for an outdated Covid protocol stating that dogs are prohibited.
